I am looking for a very nice, but reasonable hotel for a group on the French Riviera.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. We fly into Nice and want to tour the area before a river cruise. I have a group of 24 so I need 12 rooms. We don't need to stay in Nice. Actually one of the smaller villages would be great,

Try the Hotel Windsor in Nice. Can't beat the location & they speak English. We've stayed there 10-15 times - going back to '79.

We got four rooms once at the Citea Acropolis and were very pleased. Decent prices; excellent location (a block or so from the tram; easy walk to the old center). They have over 100 modern apartments with kitchen & balconies, and a pool on the roof.

With a group I would recommend to stay in Nice so that members can also be on their own unless you have a special reason for a small town. Note that group rates are very much negotiable depending on the time of the year and the hotel's booking situation. Incoming operators are offered very special prices. It also depends on your budget. You may also want to look at www.myfrenchrivieravacation.com for special group activities.

AVOID NH hotel miles from the promenade...

Not as well located but great deals on Suitehotels

Try the Mercure Promenade des Anglais; it's near the pedestrian zone, the Place Massena, and old Nice.
