What is this airline like? I did a search and found lots of people recommend Virgin Air transatlantic, but is this a sister company or a totally unrelated operation? Their site says they fly 737s. They have flights out of Brussels to tons of farflung places in Europe for only $99 one way. Just want feed-back on the airline from people who have actually flown them. Thanks.

Used them from Brussels to Rome. Cheap, low cost no frills airline.

No food served as far as I recall and the only real downside was the mad rush for seats when the gate opened. Seats were not pre-assigned at check-in.

All in all though they were fine and I'd fly them again.

Rob

Don't know anything about Virgin Express, but depending on where you're going (from Brussels or other points in Europe), you can probably do better than $99 each way. Check out easyJet and Ryanair.

I have never used them either, but whatever $99 fares you find for them on www.europebyair.com you may be able to find the same or better on their own website www.virgin-express.com

Best wishes,

Rex
I felw them Rome to Brussels in 2000. Things may have changed, but we had assigned seats and a surprisingly good meal served in a "Happy Meal" style bag. The flight at that time was only $60. I'd fly 'em again no problem.

Used them recently for a Brussels-London flight for 143 euro return.
It's a no-ticket airline, so you go to the check in with your reservation number where you get your boarding card AND seat assignment.
We did get a snack on this 45 min. flight and free cold/hot drinks.

flown Virgin Express roundtrips three times in past 9 months between Athens and Brussels. On time and about the cheapest I could find. No seat pre-assignment there or back any ANY of the trips.

So, if I don't care about having a pre-asigned seat it seems as though this is an ok airline. Does anyone know if they have the same super strict baggage limit that Ryan Air has?
Julie,
Yes, they do! Especially for cabin baggage which may be max. 6 kg and with restricted dimensions. We made the mistake to take one small carry-on for the two of us with the right dimensions but it weighed 10 kg and we had to check it.
Checked baggage is max. 20 kg or a surplus of 5 euro per kilo overweight.
