hair salon in Paris

U may laught but I just got a strange idea, I was thinking that the first thing I want to do when I step into Paris(which will be the first step in my life, is to get a hair-cut prior to any other sight-seeing. Any recommendation?

This is a chain that has salons throughout Paris -- it was mentioned [recommended?] on another thread on this topic.

http://www.biguine.com/anglais/index_a.htm

Not laughing at all, Theresa. I love to have my hair cut in Paris. If you're near the 7eme, go to Jean Louis David Diffusion at 83, rue Dominique. Raphael cut my hair, and I was a happy camper. I walked in on a Saturday and waited about ten minutes. Cut and blow-dry were equivalent to about 50 USD. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Paris.

I also had my hair cut at a Jean Louis David salon (on rue Monge in the 5th). The cut was fun (although my husband said I looked too much like "Amelie") but what I really loved was the 5 minute "effet pour eclat" (brilliance). An extra 13 Euros, but my hair still shines from it, one month later.

Do a search using : hair salon and you'll get a lot of threads that include a discussion of getting hair/beauty treatments in Paris.

I had my hair cut at Galleries Lafayette. Absolutely the best haircut I've ever had.

I should have had it cut the first day I got there instead of the last.

Maybe next time...
