good food for paris trip

I already have plans on splurging one night at Armand Palais au Royal, but i'm looking for some other great dining options. I will be staying at Relais du Louvre so any suggestions in that area would be great. Also, what is the name of the restaurant located in the Eiffel Tower...not the Jules Verne?
Thanks

Are you thinking of Altitude 95?

From the Relais, out the door to your left, first right on Adm. Coligny and past the Church - Le Fumoir. You won't be sorry, nor will your credit card/stash, whatever. I've eaten there twice in one week, the first trip convinced me to return there for my Thanksgiving Dinner... WOW did I give thanks!
And, I adore the Hotel too.
At the corner is a patisserie and around the corner from there towards the Seine a chocolate shop. At the corner on the Quai and Coligni is a cafe, Cafe Corona...and down along the Seine towards Samaritan, I think the Cafe Ponte Neuf...

We ate there in April of 2002 because Jules Verne was being renovated and my 16 year old son wanted the view. I faxed ahead for reservations and requested a table by the window and the request was honored. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service and we enjoyed it very much. We did observe some large tour groups that looked like they were all being given the same plate of "rubber chicken" but our little party was quite happy. It was about $100 for the three of us with wine but that was in the good old days when the dollar went a long way!

I thought it so much better than the detracters, that made me wonder if they ate there.
