Going To Paris & Lisbon With a Cast

Well I had a collision in a family reunion softball game this past weekend and broke my arm. Now I'm in a cast to my elbow on my right arm. I'm typing this with some difficulty using my left hand. We're definitely still going in October and wonder if anyone has traveled with an arm cast? If I'm lucky maybe I'll get preferential treatment here or there, although I don't expect it. At the very least it will be a talking point.

How many signatures do you have room for on the cast?

These days they use a fiberglass gauze and give you the choice of a color gauze to cover it with. I'm purple.

Sigh. Not an arm cast, but an ankle/leg cast - many years ago. Other than having to elevate my leg on cafe chairs (no one blinked an eye), there was no great impact on my trip. In fact, I ended up going up the stairs to the top of the Pantheon one day. My ankle was swollen like a balloon after the flight, though- obviously not the same issues with an arm!

I do hope you have a nice TC who will feed you macarons, though. ;-)

Good luck & enjoy your trip, opal!

YankyGal: An ankle/leg cast would be much worse. I'm hoping the arm doesn't swell too much during my flights. My husband will have to help with any cutting of food and feeding of macarons. We have a busy time in Paris planned; looking forward to it. Thanks.

Oh no! I think you have to treat yourself to extra wine and pastries. And some nice new scarves to go with purple.

I agree Nikki. The wine will make me forget the cast! I always bring homescarves; now I have a color to shop for.
