Glasgow family hotel

hello, we're a family with a 4 and 7 year old visiting Glasgow for 3 days in Oct 2015. Will be sight seeing as well as visiting family. Would appreciate any recommendations for a family friendly hotel, centrally located, perhaps with a separate bedroom ?

yes ! an important piece of the puzzle ! no "cheapest flea bag" and not the Ritz ! moderate ? say, $125 to $175 CAD per night ?

That's £65 to £95 a night, not a lot.
I suggest Travelodge which often has family room sleeping 4 from £30 to £60. Premier Inn from £40 to £100. They have many properties in Glasgow.

That's actually about £ 100 to £115, but both suggestions are good. Personally, I prefer Premier Inn over Travelodge.

History traveler - your numbers are way off. The £ is at about $1.85 CAD. Alec's #s are correct.

Premier inns are better than most travelodges ( but some travelodges are terrific)

Both chains run specials but book early to get the best deals. I've only stayed in the premier inn at GLA so can't help with specific properties.

Geez! You guys aren't crazy ( which is what I was thinking ). I just need to read the posts more carefully. Got it, CAD. My fault.

Another option is to use one of the booking sites such as www.hotels.com or www.booking.com. Just enter city, dates and amount you want to spend. Check the location to make sure it's central. You'll usually find a variety of room options. The reviews on both these sites are usually more accurate than Trip Advisor since only those that have stayed there can post a review.
