Getting to Riomaggiore from La Spezia and back

Hi!
We will be traveling to Cinque Terre and staying in Riomaggiore in a few weeks. We will be coming from Florence (I already have that train ticket from Florence to La Spezia), but figured we would just find out how to get to Riomaggiore from the train station. Now, I'm reading that the trains from La Spezia only go to Vernazza and Monterosso? Is that true or do they stop in all of the Cinque Terre towns? Also, after a few days stay in Riomaggiore we will be going to Venice. Will it be possible to get an early train from Riomaggiore to La Spezia so that we can make an early train to Venice? I have not purchased this ticket yet because I didn't know the schedule in Cinque Terre. Trains don't sell out right? Thanks!

There'a a comuter train that runs from La Spezia to each of the 5 villages. Riomaggiore is 8 minutes from La Spezia.

Now, there was some very bad weather there a wile back and lots of damage. You have to find out what's running and what isn't and where you can stop and where not because of the damgae.

Zepole lives just above the area. Try doing a search here for info.

Regular commuter trains run between La Spezia and all the Cinque Terre villages all day. The schedule during the day varies (see the website above) - it's roughly once an hour, sometimes more than hour sometimes less depending on the time of day. It's very easy to get back and forth by train from village to village, but sometimes you have to be patient if you just missed the last train and have to wait for the next one...

Some of the high speed Italian trains (not the commuter trains) that pass through do not stop at every village, it's true.

The flooding last fall was worst in Vernazza and Monterosso, but as I understand it those train stations are open. Parts of those two towns may still be digging out for a while.

Buy a Cinque terre card in La Spezia and the train from La Spezia to villages will be free.

And they are commuter trains which means there is no reserved seating and they don't sell out - that also means they can get packed and it could be standing room only for a portion of the trip.
