Frecciarossa trains from Malpensa airport to Florence

Frecciarossa has not started a direct service from Malpensa airport to Florence. At the moment they only have two direct trains a day as follows -

Train 9517
Malpensa 12. 21 – Florence 15.00

Train 9539
Malpensa19.21 – Florence 22.00

Unfortunately the Frecciarossa website does not yet show Malpensa as a departure/arrival point nor do the other sites - sbb.ch or bahn.de - as yet.

But this is certainly good news for travellers.

Actually, Trenitalia does show the 9517 train at 12:21, but not the later train. Enter Malpensa (I didn't bother to enter aeroporto) for your departure and Firenze - 1st cl 76€, 2nd cl 57€, travel time 2:39. Here are the stops the train makes.

Arrival station Arrival time Departure time
Malpensa Aeroporto --:-- 12:21
Milano Centrale 13:03 13:15
Bologna Centrale 14:20 14:23
Firenze S. M. Novella 15:00

I actually got the info from the Trenitalia site!
bob
for the moment there is nothing direct to Venice but the important thing is that they are introducing trains which connect direct to Milano Centrale for an onward connection to Venice and trains to Milano Rogaredo for onward connection to Turin. They have specifically stated that, based on demand and request, they will introduce further services. Whilst Trenitalia is beginning to think beyond the Milan - Rome axis what will really drive things, for the benefit of everyone, is the Expo 2015 and the arrival of the Franco/Italain competitor - NTV

I will keep on top of this and will post further info when available.
