France - Tax Refund
Can someone answer this question for me? Vacationing in Paris but stopping over in London for 2 days on the way back. Where does one claim the Tax Refund? Can it be at the Paris Airport or at a Store? Or because we are stopping over in London, it would have to be at Heathrow before we leave the country? Thank you in advance.

I'm thinking you will need to do the tax refund at Heathrow airport. You can try at the Paris Customs in the airport. Maybe they will stamp your forms. I have done that at the Nice airport, but I was departing on the same day or I was flying into Zurich and my flight back to the states was within 24 hours. I'm not sure what their rules are, but I was told at Nice that as long as my flight departed for the USA within 24 hours, they would stamp it.

You must get your VAT refund stamped at customs and leave it before you leave the EU. The customs in Great Britain have nothing to do with the EU. I know from personal experience when leaving last year. We flew out of Zurich last year and missed out on refunds becasue we did not take care of it before we arrived back in Switzerland.

"The customs in Great Britain have nothing to do with the EU. "
...is, of course, utter balderdash.
To repeat: VAT refunds have to be claimed at the claimant's exit point from the EU, though there are some exceptions when the claimant is making a same-day, direct, connection top a non-EU destination at another EU airport.
Sadly, we've not yet left the EU. Byron1's last EU airport is Heathrow, and that's where the refund claim has to be made.
