France-Italy?-Spain

Hello!

I am flying into Paris and departing from Barcelona. I have one week.

I am only spending 1 day in Paris, and leaving the next.

I would like to have 2 or 3 solid days in Barcelona.

Is it feasible to visit Italy (Genoa and Cinque Terre) in between?

What are the best ways to travel between these places?

Any other recommended trips between Paris/Barcelona?

Thanks.

Sounds deranged. Why are you flying into Paris if you're going to leave the next day?

No, it's not feasible to visit Genoa (why Genoa, anyway?) and Cinque Terre in between, unless you want to spend hours and hours and hours on a train or take a flight there and back, which I'm not sure is even possible.

Why don't you just fly to Barcelona, spend a week there, and then leave? If you want to see something other than Barcelona, explore the Costa Brava and even maybe venture into France from there.

Is there are any reason why you are leaving Paris so quickly?

A week in Paris or Barcelona is not enough for either.

Forget Italy, you are doing too much in a week.

If you want two solid days in Barcelona, you will need 3 nights there. If you are only staying one night in Paris, you will only have one day there. You can probably take a train or fly somewhere in between, and spend two nights there, as long as you can catch a flight to Barcelona from there. You'll need to do some homework, first. Where are you flying from? If it's a transatlantic flight, consider jetlag could impact your first day. When you say week, do you mean 7 days or 8 days? ( meaning six or seven nights, respectively) You can do three cities in a week, but two is more manageable. Go to the library and take out a guidebook for France and one for Spain, then spend a little time with yapta.com to check out possible flights to and from destinations you would consider, just to see if it is possible and what it might cost.

This is way too much for a week. Each of the places you mention deserve a week in their own right. Also if you are going to Spain you would be going back on yourself to get to Italy. Focus on one (max 2) places

From Paris, fly to Pisa and take the train to le Cinque Terre. At certain times in the year, it is possible to take an overnight ferry from Genova to Barcelona. Otherwise, you should be able to find flights out of Pisa, Milan, Rome and (in summer) Genova.

But in general, I think it would be more interesting to go San Sebastian than le Cinque Terre. Probably the easiest way to do it would be to fly to Bilbao and return to Bilbao to fly to Barcelona. It is also possible to reach San Sebastian by train from Paris, and by the time you crunch the numbers, it may not be that much longer than using airports and spending time getting from Bilbao to San Sebastian.

If you rent a car in San Sebastian, you can drive through France to Barcelona in about 5 hours, and possibly make the same time driving through Spain. However, it is not always possible to rent a car for just one day.

Neither le Cinque Terre or San Sebastian has good weather year-round.
