Ferry from Korcula to Hvar in Croatia

I have read in various posts that the ferry runs from Hvar to Korcula only on Tuesday and Friday. Is this year around or only in the summer, for I will be there the 2nd week of May 2017?

If we decide to go in the opposite direction and go from Korcula to Hvar, does the ferry still run on Tuesday/Friday or other days in May?

Thanks in advance!

Ferry (car or foot passenger) or catamaran (foot passenger only)?

There's daily catamaran service year round:

Not sure about the car ferry. I understand that the Jadrolinja coastal ferry (didn't run in 2016) is coming back in 2017, but I don't see any mention on the page above. You can try emailing them to ask, if you need to use a car.

I was referring to a car ferry.

I will be driving from Dubrovnik to Zagreb (or vice versa), and since I will hire a car, I just wanted to drive the car on the ferry. I thought I could get the car ferry to Korcula, then another ferry from Korcula to Hvar and from Hvar get another car ferry back to Split.

Is this doable?

Your decision, of course, but a car is not necessarily an advantage in Dalmatia. In fact, it can be a disadvantage in Dubrovnik and Split.

I fully understand that having a car in certain locales will be a disadvantage, but a party of 4 will traveling the length of the country. That's the reason I desire to utilize the car ferries. I hope the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and one advantage will be if car ferries are available.

Thanks for the replies, and if anyone receive any information about car ferries, please update.

I would try emailing Jadrolinja via the link above. (What do you have to lose?) They are a huge ferry company that runs lots of ferry companies up and down the coast. If they don't run the ferry you want, perhaps they know who does.

Hvar - Korcula by car ferry:
either
Starigrad - car ferry - Split - change car ferry - Vela Luka (Korcula Island
or
drive to Sucuraj (Hvar Island) - car ferry - Drvenik - drive to Ploce - car ferry - Trpanj - drive to Orebic - car ferry - Domince/Korcula town.

Andrew, I appreciate your remarks, and I previously Jadrolinja, but to no avail as yet. I will wait several days before I try again.

Neckervd, thanks for these routes. I will check these out.
