Ferries from Sorrento?

Hi -

Does anyone know if there are ferries directly from Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi? My guidebook shows ferries going from Naples to Positano and Amalfi, but not from Sorrento....? Will they be running in early May? We are thinking of staying in Sorrento

thanks!

Not sure, but I suspect not that early--perhaps by June.

There is always the dramatic cliff-edge hugging Amalfi Coast buses that circulate all the time and cost just a few euros.

I wouldn't trust this schedule. I would double check with your hotel but this website says they start April 23rd. I was always under the impression it was just summer. Maybe they consider April summer because that's when everything opens.

The week before Easter i believe is the traditional launch of the tourist season - the week before and after Easter being hectic in Italian tourist meccas as many northern Europeans have two weeks off and come down for some warmth and to see the famous places
