Favorites in and around Bordeaux
For those of you who have been, what are your favorite things to do in and around Bordeaux? I won't have a car. I'm planning to go in March 2017. This will be my fourth trip to France, but I've never been to Aquitaine. I speak intermediate-advanced French. I'll be traveling solo. I am not usually a tour person, but since I won't have a car, I am open to that so would welcome suggestions. Renting a car is out because I have nerve damage in my right foot so can't drive. I love history, museums, outdoor strolls, dining al fresco. Even rec's on hotels and restaurants appreciated. Thanks!

Around: Arcachon, Cap Ferret, Dune du Pylat (all reachable by public transport)
In: rue Ste-Cathérine, Comédie, Le Miroir, boat cruise, any/all of the parks, Chartrons neighborhood, Musée des Beaux Arts, Maison du Vin, the cathedrale...but really, you need to read a guidebook or two and study a city map. There is no end of wonderful things to see and do in Bordeaux.
You won't be dining al fresco in Bordeaux in March unless the weather is very unusual for that time of year. There are hundreds and hundreds of restaurants of all kinds, at all price points, so it depends what you are seeking

I was in Bordeaux for the first time last week and loved the city. We enjoyed the new wine museum easily reachable by the clean , efficient tram. One member of our group enjoyed the Resistance Museum (all the displays were in French.) another person signed on for a wine tour and cooking class. You'll have plenty to do in this beautiful, vibrant city.

Indeed you should not come to this forum.
I find it extremely pretentious and utterly stupid to come ASKING questions and then attacking posters who spend time to answer you.
You don't like the answer - your right.
You attack the regular (or not) helping you : stay away.
In my region we say 'donne à manger à un âne, il te mordra'
(feed the donkey, he'll bite you) but I prefer the one from Canada :
« Donne à manger à un cochon, il viendra chier sur ton perron »
