Fashion in Italy- HELP

Hi,
My husband(35)and I(31) are going to Italy end of March beginning of April.

What type of clothing/shoes/accessories are considered stylish this year? What are a lot of people wearing- I want to be comfortable, but don't want to be completely out of style

Thanks in advance
Sarah

Whatever you wear, you will be spotted instantly as a tourist. Italian women have an air that North American women simply cannot imitate.

That said, well-cut jeans or pants tucked into boots, with a good top, a well-tailored jacket (often with a little quilting), and a scarf looped around the neck should make you fit in quite well.

Wear the outfits from your wardrobe that make you feel the best, that you know you look good in, that are appropriate for the season you are traveling, that pack well, with pieces that mix & match. No need or likelyhood you'll be able to copy Italian women. That said, do a bit of shopping once you're there.

Hi SR,

Good advice above.

Whatever you buy in the States is unlikely to be in fashion in Italy.

There is no one thing or one look that "everybody" in Italy is wearing at any one season. I don't know where you are from, but I would guess that if you wear clothing that is in good taste and classic in your home city, you will fit right in. Especially if you wear nice, dark footwear. I usually wear jeans or black pants during the day; sometimes also at night. Good black shoes and purse; no fanny pouch or anything like that. Dark jacket in a good material. In other words, exactly how I dress at home in the US. Relax..this is a vacation.
