Eiffel tower in May, should I go in morning or around 7 pm?

Hi, I'm planning to see the tower the first week of May on a Tuesday with my husband and 2 kids, and am wondering whether the lines are likely to be long at 7pm? We are definitely going to go up, as it's one of the things the kids are looking forward to. I want to see the tower at night time anyway, so it would make more sense to go up around that time unless lines are likely to be really long, and then I would make an extra trip in the morning. thanks for your input!

You can purchase tickets online now, so no reason to wait in long lines. That said, the first time we went up we went first thing in the morning. You can see more when it is daylight. On the other hand, it is really pretty to look out at the city with all the lights on, before it is dark. I know I probably just confused you even more, and sorry about that, but maybe it will help you decide what you would prefer

If you go at night there is practically no line. Think about after dinner before you go home to bed. I didn't know about the tickets. That is new.

Heading to Paris in 3 weeks, thanks for the ticket information. I've been there twice and both times lines were daunting, so this would be very helpful!

Please note that sunset is late in Paris (about 9pm) during the first week in May. EJ

When you go..think about approaching from Right Bank via Trocadero metro and walking between the Palais Chaillot buldings. A WOW moment, then walk across bridge and go up.

A Seine cruise is also a good idea, to see it sparkling at night.

In my opinion just before sunset is the best time, that's when the colours are the best. Especially if there are clouds. And if you stay around a bit, you can see the sunset and the lit up Paris as well.
