We have two nights planned in the eastern part of Slovenia staying at a tourist farm in a vineyard. Wondering if there will be enough to do for a two night stay. We can't find much info in travel books. Anyone else wander this area?
Eastern Slovenia, what's to see and do?

Solo in Sicily - April 2013

I assume you have the flexibility of a rental car. If so, there are lots of interesting small villages to visit. A few are Ptuj, Ptujiska Gora, Slovenj Gradec, Dobrna, and Celje (a little larger than the others). To me, the scenery itself is very pleasant, but a visit to the villages is most enjoyable.
Look for Ruthenian wooden churches in the villages above Svidnik. They usually are hidden in a grove of trees above the village. The Michelin map indicates their presence with a little church symbol.
Gee, there's a Svidnik in Slovenia with Ruthenian churches? There's a Svidnik with Ruthenian churches in Slovakia, also.
Thanks, Wayne and Michael, for the info. We love little villages and wine, too! And especially like driving scenic roads. We will have a car and will be coming from Ljubljana. It will be the end of our trip thru Croatia and Slovenia. We will be flying out of Zagreb.
Sorry, I read Slovakia. My mistake.
