Do you need to book long distance buses in advance in Greece? How about around Easter?

Hello,

I have reservations in Delphi for the Greek Easter weekend. I will leave on Saturday the 22nd and be in Delphi for Easter Sunday on the 23rd. At least this is the plan....Do I need to book a bus ticket in advance? Is this even possible? In general do you just show up at bus/train terminals and hop on? Ie. Busing from Athens to Monemvasia or taking the train from Kalamata to Athens?

Thanks for any info you can impart!

Murphy

Every form of public transportation will be booked solid for Greek Easter weekend, so if you want any chance of getting to Delphi you'd better hope someone here has a solution for you. Renting a car might be your only option at this late date, assuming there are still some cars available.

Oh Dear. Well, I will keep working on it - I thought a month in advance would be ok....

Actually I found some info on the web on http://www.greektravel.com/ - it has bus and train schedule info. It doesn't mention reservations for buses - brotherleelove, do you know how to book bus reservations? Through whom?

Thanks,

Murphy

Sorry, I don't have a clue. Why don't you send an email to Fantasy Travel in Athens? Explain your schedul and concerns and maybe they can offer some suggestions.
