Do we need advance tix for Louvre?
We will be in Paris the week of October 31. Because its "off season", will we still need to purchase advance tickets for a one-afternoon visit to the Louvre? (to avoid long lines). Thanks for your advice!

What other things are you planning on seeing? There are tons of sights in Paris covered by the Museum Pass, including Ste. Chappelle, Arc de Triomphe, nearly every museum, and Versailles.
You might consider buying one, then you can zip into everything quickly.

October 31 is not an off season as far as I am concerned. Locals and visitors from other European countries visit important museums in Paris. Get a museum pass.
A 3-day museum pass had me waking-up at my hotel and starting the day spending half-an-hour during a 3-day business trip to Paris going pass the already long lines at d'Orsay and browsing through some of my favorite artwork anywhere.
