Different car types in France

Different car types in France
I am trying to figure out which of these car models would be best for a party of 4 adults.
As I am not familiar with these models, I was hoping someone here might be able to help.
Citroen C5 1.8 (intermediate)
Alfa Romeo 159 Multijet 1.9 (standard)
The websites show enough (barely) room for luggage, and the rate difference is $120 for our dates (Citroen being the cheaper car).
But one rental agency has one style and one has the other style.
Any big difference between the two?

There's no guarantee that you'll get either are whoever you book with. The cars are "illustrative" of what the capability of that size car would be.
With 4 adults and luggage I'd be looking at a people-carrier - ie something designed to carry 7 people which, when the unused seats are collapsed, will give the space for 4 people's luggage

Thank you, alanRow. I assume you are speaking of something like a van, with the collapsible seat configuration?
I do realize car styles are merely illustrative. I'm just trying to get some idea of the differences in intermediate to standard, and now I will check out the vans. Thanks!

We found an Alfa 159 uncomfortably cramped for 4 medium sized adults (height range 4'11" to 5'8"
for two weeks in Italy recently.
Though baggage space was OK for 4 21" roll on and 4 totes, the back seat was so cramped that when anyone but the smallest of us was in the back, we were uncomfortable. (We refused to accept her offer to be a permanent occupant of the back seat.)
I think alanRow's suggestion is well taken. Paying for a larger vehicle will make you so much more comfortable that it is money well spent.

The last tine we rented- in Belgium we had 4 adults and normal luggage and took the largest sedan - a Mercedes. we had to stuff the carry-ons in the back seat between the passengers to fit it all in.
I would never consider anything but the largest car for 4 adults -and if you have more than modest luggage you will be a 7 person van.
(Car sizes in euope are even smaller than the sizes quoted by US car rental companies - which are already smaller than government ratings. The smallest sizes are approximately the size of 2 very small armchairs.)
