Czech Airlines Baggage Charges
Flying from Prague to Rome at the end of September and found reasonable fare and schedule on Czech Airlines (apparently code shared with Italia). Czech Airlines site has baggage fees noted that are outrageous or so it seems. Has anyone flown on this airline and had experience with baggage charges?

What do you consider outrageous?
1st bag free, up to 23kh
2pcs cabin baggage free up to 12kg total
If you are a skyteam elite frequent flier 2nd piece of luggage is free.
Overweight and 2nd piece of luggage fees are high. Definitely an incentive to pack lightly.
Is the flight on Czech metal or Alitalia metal?

Thanks all: made the reservations through Orbitz and I do think it is Alitalia metal. Must have misread the part about 100-150 Euro charge for large bag. Wife and I will be away for 5 weeks and will each take a carry on bag and larger bag (26 inch Delsey Helium).

I don't think you misread it, there are large charges for overweight bags. It is probably 100-150 euro range, but that isn't outrageous, it's the norm. A lot of people just don't take that big and heavy a suitcase on a vacation, that's all. If you need it (and I understand that is a long time), I would think 100 euro would be worth it to you for 5 weeks. That's only 20 euro a week surcharge you are paying per week to have whatever you need that much.
However, I have taken 25 inch lightweight suitcases (including a Delsey brand) and they never were over that weight limit. So you won't necessarily be, but you could be if you pack a lot of heavy stuff. You know that is basically 50 pounds or more of stuff (24 kg).
