curious smoker in sweden

Hello everyone hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I have traveled all over latin america and lived abroad for years. I come from a place people are not persecuted for smoking marijuana. Im going to europe for the second time in life. First time i was in southwest europe, germany austria and holland. Stayed for about 3 months so im somewhat aware of what i should expect. Going to sweden and ive read the society is very prejudice. Any tips about where to hang out in stockholm to find people who have similar habits? I dont want to have to go to denmark and back as my cousin suggested. If you have some negative thing to say i respectfully ask you keep your opinion to yourself. Im not at all interested in hearing how you feel about my lifestlye. Your comments wont change anything.

I won't comment about the lifestyle . . . but if you can't avoid using cannabis for the duration, then you really should not go to Sweden.

Their laws are very strict and possessing even tiny amounts is forbidden. Even if you found a clandestine place to buy or smoke, police can stop anyone they suspect being under the influence.

So you don't want to hear reality? In your position, I would want to hear what the reality is. Janis has offered that information.

BigCalifornia's response to Janis is reeeaaally comical. What does s/he want to read if not a reality-based response? I'm in Colorado right now where weed is legal and consumption fairly widespread. BigCalifornia's response looks to me just like the talk you hear from those who have just indulged - a little off center, somewhat comical. Could it be?

I have no idea what you are talking about -- What on earth does being adult have to do w/ anything? IF you use in Sweden you are very likely to be caught. If you are caught you will likely be deported after paying the consequences. That is not a comment about your choices - it is factual. The drugs laws in Sweden are taken seriously.

Hopefully you are 'adult' enough to understand what that means. They will not care if it is legal where you live.

So what did you want me to tell you?

So apparently you guys are offended im sorry about that. By all adults here im insinuating that if i am making a choice i am aware of the consequences. As i said in the initial question i am aware they are against it and im doing it anyway just like everywhere else i go. To tell me how illegal it is again seems obviously irrelevant if i have stated i am comfortable accepting the consequences. If someone said where do people who smoke hang out in california, or anywhere else i been i could point you to a million places i know those people are at. A beach, a bar, restaurants, parks, hotels, etc. Since sweden is going to be cold im assuming no one will be at the beach with the bong out. Thats the point of asking all of you.

Not only are you presumptuous, you are a complete asshat.

How's that for being judgmental? You come here as a first post and proceed to insult those who offer to help.

And yes, I'm having a wonderful day.

Bigcalifornia, sorry if we here disappoint you, but it's not really a forum where people will show you how and where to do an illegal thing (note that I don't say good or bad, I don't judge you nor should you judge the information that the posters here gave you).

And if you find janisj's reply not to your taste, then you'll certainly not want to have anything with the police of Sweden, they are very, very strict, much more than you said you "are aware of".

Of course you can do anything you want, but please don't be rude to a poster who took her time to tell you a mere reality.

Actually, I think bigcalifornia's attitude is understandable. He accepts there are consequences for illegal actions and is willing to accept the risks. Evidently he accepts the precepts of, "If you can't do the crime, don't do the crime!", and is willing to do the time.

I'm quite sure, as in any country, there are places in Sweden you can score. However, Big, if you are expecting the members of this Forum who know Sweden to supply you with the telephone number of a dealer and a safe place to smoke, I think you are in for a disappointment.

You managed to find your way to this travel site, perhaps by googling?

Use the same technology to find what you are looking for - google your question. It is pretty easy to get some hits [pun intended] that will answer your question; it isn't all that hard.

I'd say you'd better plan for abstinence in Sweden - one of the most backward countries in Europe in this regard.

Yes in Copenhagen head to Christiana where pot has been sold visible over the counter for years (recent crackdowns however so not sure of current deal but one place to go-right in central Copenhagen.

But taking back to Sweden means potential border checks and all.

Södermalm.
Personally, I would not even think about it.
Go elsewhere if you can.

I hope you enjoy the time you spend in the Swedish prison system.

Sorry - different countries have different cultures - and you can't just make up your own rules as you go. I'm sure you can find a place to buy illegal substances - but you have to accept the possibility of being prosecuted (NOT persecuted).
