Copenhagen hotel in April & suggested itinerary
We will be traveling to Copenhagen to visit our daughter in early April. We will be using Copenhagen as the landing city every day and taking excursions during the daytime.
1) Any suggestions for clean descent hotels in the $150 range that are central to many things? I have looked at Copenhagen Plaza, Bethel and others. I have read many forums and my head is spinning!
2) Any suggestions for an itinerary while in Denmark? We may rent a car if that will make travel easier and are not opposed to doing an overnight to another part of the country.
Thanks for the help and suggestions. This is our first time planning such a trip.

At that price range, I would look at Priceline, first. You stand a very good chance of getting into the Marriott for $100 to $150.
As for excursions, I would definitely consider Helsingor, where you can visit Hamlet's castle and Louisiana Art Museum. Also, Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerod is a nice visit. With a car, you could probably hit all three in one day, depending upon how long you spend at Louisiana. Without a car, you should go to each city on separate days. You should also hit Roskilde, catching the cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum.
As for overnights... Stockholm would be worth a night or two, depending upon what you want to do. Within Denmark, you could head out to Jutland for a more rural experience. I would go to Stockholm - flights are cheap.

If you have the time and desire, I too would suggest going to Stockholm while you are that close. I really liked Stockholm better than Copenhagen.
We stayed in Nyhavn (pronounced roughly "newhown") and I really loved that area. Picturesque, close to many things, and I loved being on the water. You might see what you could find in the area.
