Going to be in Copenhagen for two days before a cruise anything we must see and would like information on a nice, clean 3 star plus hotel in the Tivoli or Stroget area.

A standard spot people stay is the Marriott which is within walking distance of Tivoli. We stayed there in July 09 for 2 nights pre Baltic cruise. It's a real cruise hotel meaning a lot of folks stay there. Typical Marriott - it was nice - lines were long for check out due to the number of cruisers. Several people got their room through bidding on Priceline.

Clean 3* om Radhuspladsen, around the corner from Tivoli and accross Radhuspladsen from 1 end of Stroeget, is The Square.
Quite nice, feels better than 3* to me, but doesn't have a restaurant (rooftop breakfast room with a buffet style breakfast only), which I find not much of an issue given the amount of restaurants in the vicinity.
Only downside in my book is that the beds are a little on the soft side.

We are staying at the Copenhagen Strand hotel. It seemed to be a good location. We didn't want to stay by the train station or the Tivoli. http://www.copenhagenstrand.com/
Did read on the review that the standard room was quite small so we selected the larger room - think it is the executive room.
When I made the reservation they charged my room immediately because I selected the quaranteed room reservation. Thought they didn't do that - but it was okay with me.

I've stayed at the Marriot three times...easy 10-15 minute walk, all flat to from both the train station and Tivoli.
This past November I stayed at the Nimb which is IN one of the Tivoli buildings...expensive but worth it at least once IMO.
I do not understand any "concerns" about staying near Tivoli or the train station...other than you might actually see some REAL Danes hanging around....
