Connection in Athens
Hello, planning to arrive in Athens late October via a direct flight from Philadelphia. The arrival is 8:10am. I am looking to buy a ticket from ATH to Mykonos that departs at 9:45am. If I don't have luggage, would there be enough time to get through the passport control and customs on average? I understand things can go wrong and the first flight can be delayed and similar issues, but want to find out if it's a stretch on an average scenario or if it's completely doable. Thanks!

Unless I"m very very much mistaken (having taken that direct flight via USAir Now American, more than 9 times) - it does not arrive at 8:10 but rather at 9:10 am. It is always on time, even if it takes off from Philly as much as 90 minutes late (why? because it has all that mileage over Atlantic to make up time)... but by the time 300-400 people disembark, it will be 9:30 by time you walk out of the gate area. So your plan is a no-go from the start.
Checking http://reservations.airtickets.com/a...=1505181450776 - a website that shows more than just Aegean & Olympic -- you have various options.
• The cheapest, Sky Express, goes most days at 11:50 for $86 ... BUT (and this is a big But), only a small (14 lb) bag plus laptop -- a 20"-22" bag u would normally be allowed carry on, in other airlines, will instead cost you $25 - $50 depending on when you pay. There are additional fees, I think, if you must get boarding pass at airport etc .. it adds up.
• Aegean has daily 10:40 flight @ $121. You should be able to make this handily if you don't dawdle... check-in is just at other end of building from International flights, u must check in 45 minutes before departure. You may even have time to stop at an ATM & get a few Euros.
Incidentally passport control is only time-cosuming thing, customs is nothing at all.

The end of October is the week of time change mismatch between the US and Greece. Are you departing PHL between October 28 and November 4th, US time?

Yes, arriving on the 29th right after the time change.
Thanks for that link, I checked it and it shows the flights I had already seen, 9:45am, 4:15pm and 6pm. The Sky Express website errors out and I can't check the flights, I'll try later today.
I am thinking one hour 35 minutes should be enough between the two flights. I also read that I can buy the flex tickets and change to the later flight in case I miss the 9:45am one.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll post if I end up getting the earlier flight and actually making it.
