1. Edgware Rd is the longest street (no pun intended) in London. It's very, very unlikely you're staying near Station Rd Edgware, where the factory shop once was.

2. Clarks no longer manufacture in Britain, and closed their factory in Street, Somerset in 2005. The site has been turned into an outlet village - including a Clarks factory shop. There are other Clarks factory shops in other people's outlet centres (like the McArthurGlen ones). The closest to London, I think, is the Hatfield Galleria

I think Clarks shoe are great and would recommend them to anyone. They're not too dear and can last for years.

Google is still listing the ones in Seven Sisters, Woolwich and Kilburn. Yellow Pages (www.yell.com) is still listing also the ones in Peckham and Elephant & Castle (which I think is closed). You could always try ringing the numbers given to see if any are still there. None of them is in the wilds of beyond.

Are they going to Oxford? The Bicester outlet centre has a Clark's discount shop (or did the last time I was there.) It's intriguing how foreigners value Clark's shoes, I think the stock abroad may be better than here?

There is definitely one on the high street in Woolwich...although I don't find it very good (it tends to be the shoes no one else can sell and the styles are not what I would call fashionable.). You can take the DLR from bank to Woolwich arsenal and the exit at the front of the train will take you right to the start of the shopping street. The DLR ride is 30 mins and into zone 4.
