Hi,
my parents are a big fan of Clarks and would like to check out their factory shops. Since we are staying near Edgware Rd, thinking to hit that one.
I googled and noticed it was listed an inactive listing in one of the website. Wondering if anyone knows the shop is still there or not anymore?
THANKS HEAPS!
Clark factory shop Egdware Rd still open?

1. Edgware Rd is the longest street (no pun intended) in London. It's very, very unlikely you're staying near Station Rd Edgware, where the factory shop once was.
2. Clarks no longer manufacture in Britain, and closed their factory in Street, Somerset in 2005. The site has been turned into an outlet village - including a Clarks factory shop. There are other Clarks factory shops in other people's outlet centres (like the McArthurGlen ones). The closest to London, I think, is the Hatfield Galleria
I think Clarks shoe are great and would recommend them to anyone. They're not too dear and can last for years.
flanneruk,
Im staying at Praed Street.
Does this mean that the one at Seven Sisters is also no longer there?
flanneruk

Indeed i mixed up the Edgware Rd station with the Edgware station. I'm staying at Praed Street
Do you have any idea if the one at Seven Sisters is still there?
Thanks!

Flanner posted >>The closest to London, I think, is the Hatfield Galleria<< and I would think that is probably right. I did a google search and the factory shops I could find are quite far from central London.
Google is still listing the ones in Seven Sisters, Woolwich and Kilburn. Yellow Pages (www.yell.com) is still listing also the ones in Peckham and Elephant & Castle (which I think is closed). You could always try ringing the numbers given to see if any are still there. None of them is in the wilds of beyond.
And they have plenty of regular outlets around London, and special offers on their website:

Thank you so much for your information. Helpful indeed.
Are they going to Oxford? The Bicester outlet centre has a Clark's discount shop (or did the last time I was there.) It's intriguing how foreigners value Clark's shoes, I think the stock abroad may be better than here?
Mucky wears clarks shoes.

(He also eats clarks pies but there is no link
Here's the website for the Street village, the factory shop is still pretty good there.

There is definitely one on the high street in Woolwich...although I don't find it very good (it tends to be the shoes no one else can sell and the styles are not what I would call fashionable.). You can take the DLR from bank to Woolwich arsenal and the exit at the front of the train will take you right to the start of the shopping street. The DLR ride is 30 mins and into zone 4.
And did you know, according to the saleswoman in the USA where we also bought socks, that Clark's socks have a lifetime guarantee? Just take in the tattered sock and they replace it. No receipt necessary.
I haven't taken them up on it yet, so I do hope I was given the correct information.
I should have started buying Clark's socks years ago. If this is true, an amazing deal.
