My sister and niece (age 15) will be visiting Paris for 5 days starting August 1 and staying near Rue Cler. Can you help me make a list of places to eat for her? or point me to another thread with a list? Thanks.

3. Last year we also ate at an Italian restaurant on a side street off Rue Cler (between Rue Cler and Ave. Bosquet) but I can't remember the name. They had very nice take-out as well as tables out front and restaurant in the basement.

topping this for you and including the places that I can remember from our trip to Paris last Spring, we stayed in an apt on rue Cler/rue de Grenelle.

For when you are too tired to go far and not all that hungry, try Ulysse en Gaul which is across the street from Hotel Leveque. It is Greek. There are the typical Greek dishes, salads, generally a soup, one special while it lasts and fantastic crepes.

A few blocks away, across Ave. Bosquet and on Rue Dominique, is Cafe Constant. I had Quenelles because I didn't know what they were and they were fabulous. You will be sitting quite close to another table, or possibly upstairs. The waitresses were somewhat funky but the service was good. We paid $55.00 for two including a glass of wine each.

Here's another recommendation for Le Bistrot de 7eme. Best to reserve.

Next door is LaTour Maubourg. Went there several times in May.

Le Recuitment on the corner of St. Dominique/Blvd LaTour-Maubourg. Excellent portion of foie gras with toasts for &euro;10.50. Good warm goat cheese salad. Excellent view of Tour Eiffel from sidewalk tables.

Cafe Roussillon (corner rues Cler/Grenelle) had terrific blackboard specials. Filet Mignon at low price (very good). Sunday Brunch (fruit, juice, scrambled eggs with ham or smoked salmon or bacon, bread basket, home fries, coffee) is a bargain at &euro;15.20. This is a very convivial place anytime (cafe, bar, resto) with hopping music (mostly American pop).

Top on the list recommendation would be Le P'Tit Troquet(28 rue de l'Exposition, between St. Dominique and Grenelle(reservations essential). Three courses &euro;30. Utterly charming place, service...Wonderful food. Reservations usually essential (just stop by).

Well, we had a bad breakfast experience at Cafe Roussillon. Canned fruit cocktail, frozen orange juice. Perhaps they are better for dinner.

A La Petit Chaise (the small chair) at 36 Rue de Grenelle. It's in a rowhouse that feels like someone's home. Our bill for three courses, wine, water and coffee for two people totaled only 100Euro. The cooking will blow you away. Plan on 2-3 hours. Highly recommended.

Ronda...We will be staying in the 7th in Sept. so I have been keeping an eye out for restaurants in the area. I believe the Italian place near Rue Cler that you may be thinking could be Pizza Tina. I know I have heard a lot of good things about it.

Also, you could look up restaurants near Rue Cler by using the French Yellow pages.

There is an English button on the top right. Put in Rue Cler (and/or nearby streets) and restaurants and some will pop up. I only found two listings on Rue Cler so you may have to try a little harder than I did.

The neat thing about the Yellow Pages is you can click on a link and it will show you a picture of the outside of the building. Also, you can view up and down the street.

Dejais, it really wasn't a pizza place at all. It had little tiny tables on the sidewalk, and looked like a very nice Italian take-out place inside. They had wonderful wonderful food. Downstairs there was a restaurant and if it is hot, the AC doesn't work too well. The food was really really good but sort of expensive (in the restaurant).

I'll have to try &quot;walking&quot; up and down the street on pages jaunes until I find it.

Cafe Rousillon is good for a sandwich or drinks, I would not have breakfast there..especially considering the bakeries across the street on rue Cler with their offerings of fresh hot croissants
I second or third or whatever the recommendation of Petit Troquet..charming owner, good food, small nice space..
btw-if you are in need of an internet cafe, there is one next door to Petit Troquet - called World Cafe, I believe ( I am forgetful right now, PWD

Well, have been doing a little research since it bugs me that I or anyone in my party last summer can't remember the name of the Italian restaurant. I used Pages Jaunes to come up with an entire list of restaurants in the 7th. I clicked on the American flag, put in Restaurants, for city I put Paris 7 and hit search and that gave me 339 restaurants in the 7th. It is a pretty nifty list as if the restaurant has a web page, it is listed. Has a map for each restaurant on Mappy.

I believe the restaurant is on Grenelle so I started over and put Grenelle in for the address and again Paris 7. That gave me 14 restaurants. Looking at the ones with Italian names and then looking at the map that pops up with each one, I have decided it must be:
