Charging cell phone
So I am planning on getting a converter to use to charge my cell phone while in France. Has anyone had any problems with this? I know my dual voltage hairdryer can get overheated and stop sometimes. I don't want to burn up my phone!

Virtually all phones these days are rated to accept European voltage, so forget the converter. They're dicey at best, anyway - the cheap ones are legendarily unreliable. If you are concerned, look for the tiny print on the charger that says something like "Input 110-240" to reassure yourself that it is OK.

Last summer in Paris we charged phones, iPods, etc. with a plug adaptor and all were fine. Indeed most electronics these days work with multiple voltages. If you want to be certain, I would suggest that you suggest the web site of your phone's manufacturer. This is a common question that is often answered on the "FAQ" page.
