Carleton Court timeshare London

Has anyone stayed here? It is located at 120 Maida Vale in London. Some months ago someone said they were going to stay there in October 2003? If that person reads this, I would be interested to hear how they liked the place and any information about the property, restaurants or pubs in the area, etc.

Any information about the place or area will be helpful. We will be staying there in June 2004. Thanks for your help.

Janin,
That must have been me and my wife.
We stayed there for one week in Oct.
It was nice the rooms were fine nothing special. Some rooms only have a bathtub or just a shower. Easy to get into central London a couple of tube stops away. Very helpfull staff.
Have fun!

Mike, Were there any pubs or restaurants nearby for meals that you liked? Any shops? We expect to only be in the rooms to sleep and rest a little. We plan to spend most of our time out and about in London. We will fix breakfast in our room so would be interested in any grocery stores nearby for supplies and perhaps restaurant or pub if we don't want to stay in and fix dinner sometimes. Any place to do laundry? We try to pack light, so laundry is a must.
Thanks.

Janin, There is a "Marks & Spencer" market up the street, and, a few other smaller markets. It is a very busy street.
There is a pub close by that has good prices on lunch. We did not eat until late in the evening, so we ate in central london.
There is a nice flea market about half a mile down maida vale. The bus below has a stop at the flea market.
The bus is very convenient. It picks up right in front of Carlton Court and you can get anywhere in London, and, runs later than the trains. The trains stop around midnight.
There is a lot of indian and middle eastern food on maida vale.
A fun thing to do is a Beatles Walk. Look up www.beatlesinlondon.com for more information. Or check out www.walks.com for other london walks.
We can give you more info if you are interested. Just let us know on this posting.

Janin,
We hand wash our clothes and hang them to dry while on vacation.
I'm sure the hotel can help you out. They are very friendly.

Did your hand washing dry OK? I am wondering if the weather is damp in June if clothes will dry?

take mostly clothing that would dry overnight. You don't need any heavy garments in June. If it gets cool, light layers are better than heavy sweaters.

secondly: Most timeshare flats have either heated towel rails or a drying cupboard and some have washers/dryers so you shouldn't have any trouble.

If you take the right sort of clothing most anything would dry overnight or at worst over 2 nights.
