Budget Hotel Copenhagen??
Any suggestions for a good budget hotel or B&B in Copenhagen? My lucky daughter is at the University of Copenhagen this year and I would love to visit her for at least a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a guesthouse that has often been recommended, although I haven't stayed there:

Here's a budget hotel (shared facilities) - again I haven't stayed there.

Both are pretty well-located, although a little off-center.
We got an excellent deal by bidding on Priceline for a 3* hotel and getting the Mermaid Hotel.

If you have no qualms about staying in a closet-sized room, one of the Cab Inn hotels (there are three in Copenhagen) could be a possibility. These budget hotels are a Danish concept that has based the room design on the features of a cruise ship cabin, maximizing the function of a tiny space. The prices are about as low as you can hope to find in Copenhagen.
I have not stayed at any of these but they look OK from the outside and I talked to a few persons on strict budgets who rather enjoyed the one nearest Tivoli.

Another choice that is further out, but still convenient by train.
Zleep
Go to http://www.ryanairhotels.com and do a search. This is the site where I find the cheapest rates (generally).
Also check out http://www.laterooms.com .
In both cases, Zleep will be cheaper than it is on the web site.

Wow, a Cab-Inn in city center. Wish they had had it in 1998 when we were there. We stayed at the Cab-Inn Copenhagen, which is about a 15-minute walk or a quick bus ride to city center as I recall. We LOVED it there. It was fun to have a TV in the room after all the hostels we stayed at that didn't even have a TV. The en suite bathroom was a welcome change also. It took us a little while to figure out that we had to turn on the faucet in the sink first to get the water to flow in the shower. That just cracked my kids up. The breakfast wasn't included as I recall, but it was reasonably priced and decent. Rooms were clean, and staff was friendly. Cab-Inn gets my vote, especially if you can stay near Tivoli for the same price the other two locations charge.

Stayed in a Cab Inn in Copenhagen last summer. It was fine. We never spend any time in the room anyway. I think I remember that breakfast WAS included. The room was very small, but very clean and well organized.
