Booking/buying train ticket Paris-Gourdon
I feel a little stupid having to ask this, as I know there's a variety of other posts on how to book France rail...but now that I'm faced with trying to find an affordable ticket, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong/overlooking how to find all the possible trips...or if it just is what it is.
Fly in to CDG on 5/26 (8 a.m.), need to get to Gourdon for a self-guided bike tour, leaving on 5/27 (return to Paris on 6/01). Tour organizer needs to give me bike/maps, etc. ON the 26th...and the only reasonably priced fares I'm finding don't get me in to Gourdon until midnight or so (which is too late). There's a 9:30 TGV but that would be cutting things way too close/don't think I could catch (and, it's 113 Euro).
I've also checked into a France rail pass (4 days for $271 -- also doing a short Paris-Bayeux trip), but doesn't include reservations, which I know I need for TGV to Gourdon. Can anyone tell me how much the TGV res. cost?
So, I guess I'm looking for help with times as much as I am the prices -- I just find it hard to understand that there's not a 10:30 a.m. or later train that would get me into Gourdon before 9 at night (and that one is 137 Euros). What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

There aren't any TGVs that go to Gourdon. There's a train leaving Austerlitz at 7:53 am that goes through Cahors and gets you there at 13:12, and there's one leaving from Austerlitz at 13;53 that goes direct to Gourdon, arriving at 18:50. There's also one from Montparnasse at 9:26 that gets you to Gourdon at 17:40.
The first train's too early for you, and I doubt you'd make the 9:26 one. Looks like you'll have to take the 13:53 from Austerlitz.

jayhawk, I used www.voyages-sncf.com, plugged in Roissy as the departure and Gourdon as the destination. It gave me a lot more choices than when I plugged in Paris (toutes gares) as the departure and Gourdon as the destination (including a bunch that involved all kinds of extra connections, which I didn't bother to post here).
I did put in Mary 26 as the date.

Which Gourdon do you mean - the one in the Lot or the one further south in Provence?
Assuming it's in the Lot, there is no TGV, and trains from Roissy seem to go all over the country. Probably better to go directly into Paris and take the train from Gare d'Austerlitz south towards Toulouse, getting off at Gourdon, just before Cahors.
Unfortunately a number of trains to smaller stations on this line, like Gourdon and Souillac, have been dropped. Weekly demonstrations for the last several years have forced SNCF to reinstate some of them.
check the link St Cirq gave, which is the French train station site, looking for 'horaires' or schedules.

Strange - that's what I've done (same link, in French), and, again, the 13:53 departure doesn't come up for Saturday, May 26 (only the other days of week).
Luckily, I just heard from the tour organizer, who checked the train times -- he couldn't find anything getting in before 9 p.m., either, so he said he'd pick me up in Brive la Gaillarde, about an hour away (which has several more trains than Gourdon from Paris). How nice!
Thanks for your help!
