Bologna Train Station

Has anyone ever stored their luggage at the Bologna train station? From the website it appears that it is possible to do this, however our tour guide said they did not think that you could. Also, I'm assuming that whenever you store your luggage at a train station, there is someone there watching it?

Left Luggage Storage (Depositi Baggagli) rooms in Italian rail stations have guards who take your bag, put it on a shelf, and give you a receipt. They may require that you show photo ID and may even make a photocopy of your ID and attach the photocopy to your bag for security purposes. When you return, you'll pay a fee based on the time stamp on the receipt.
