BMI ticket: buy now or wait?

I need 2 tickets from LHR to Venice on June 6, 2005. BMI airlines website has a price of 71.80 GBP for 2 one-way tickets. Is there any danger in buying these tickets now?
I haven't been able to find out much about the airline, I am assuming that they will still be operating this summer? Anyone have any insight?

Can I also assume that this is the lowest the fare would go? I will be using a credit card for the purchase.

You can't assume it's the lowest things will go, but it sounds pretty decent, and what I think you can assume is (if it matters to you) that the USD exchange with Sterling is likely to get worse, so locking into the price now might be a way of stemming the bleeding, currency-wise.

mollmatt - A couple of things to consider in your circumstances:
1) If you only need to go LHR-VCE, and have "alternative" transport back (which I have assumed from your post), you should check into what the R/T tickets would cost and consider simply not using the return portion. My friends and I saved over 150$ by doing this Paris-Bordeaux.
2) If I'm wrong and you need R/T tix, then this certainly seems like a fair price for LHR-VCE. No one of course can know whether it'll go down. I'd simply want to put behind me the whole matter, were I in your shoes.
3) BMI is a member of the Star Alliance, and is not a "low-cost carrier" on which you might be concerned. Whether they'll be around for the "long haul" or not, no one can say, but I am certain that June 2005 poses no problem for you on BMI.
Best wishes for a great trip!! Dave

Hi moll,

35E is a pretty good price.

The price usually rises the closer you get to the travel date.

BTW,

Did you check fares at www.whichbudget.com?

Ira, yes I did check whichbudget.com and they also direct me to BMI for this routing. I think I could go cheaper on either Ryanair or EasyJet but would have to leave out of Stansted and would arrive in Treviso which seems farther away from Venice (Marco Polo). Flights are just one way, we are heading back to the US via Rome.
I think I'll go ahead and purchase now. Thanks for the replies.

Buy that ticket! I like BMI and have flown up to Scotland with them. Much nicer than the no frills airlines. Doubt that you'll do better on price. £71 for two tickets? A great deal.
