B&B or hotel 1 hour south of Dublin
Thanks to all of you for your input about renting a car. Could you suggest a hotel or B&B in a smaller town about 1 hour south of Dublin? Leaving on the 31st.

1 hour south of Dublin is basically still Dublin, depending on the traffic ;-)
Glendalough (c. 1h30) is very nice, although it is overrun with tourists visiting the monastic sites. There is a hotel there, as well as countless B&Bs. (I've only ever stayed in the hostel.)
There would be plenty of places around that area that would be convenient to walking in the Wicklow mountains.
Check out www.ireland.ie for ideas on accomodation in Wicklow.

The Summerhill House Hoitel in Enniskeey is lovely and a short walk down the road to Poerscourt. Its a small village with a cafes and a few restaurants. Otherwise Glensolough or furter into wicklow would be nice.
