Bavarian Alpine Farm Holidays

Any recommendations for a family of 4 looking to spend 4-8 days in the Bavarian countryside at a family farm? We want nice mountian scenery, an apartment type place - but eating at the farm restaurant is fine too if there is one, close to other small villages like Mittenwald or similar and within an easy train ride to Munich and/or Salzburg. Does not have to be in Germany per se as we have heard that areas near Lermoos, Austria are good too. Thanks!

BTW - this weekend we are headed to the Mt. Angel, Oregon USA Oktoberfest - Prost!, the Pacific Northwest's largest folk festival and the best Oktoberfest in America - check it out some year! We love German culture and festivals! http://www.oktoberfest.org/

Hi LittleA,

Here's a site to start you off for Bavaria:

http://www.bauernhof-urlaub.com/

I couldn't find an English version, but you can use google's language tools to help you translate it, if needed. You would search for a place on the button "Ferienhofsuche" and then "Bauernhof-Suche."

If you want to do this in Switzerland, here is the English link for that:

http://www.abenteuer-stroh.ch/en/default.asp

Have fun!

Thanks! Great links. I have seen the Germany site before. Has anyone stayed in any of these and can recommend one? So many choices.
