Avignon suggestions?

I've gone through the post regarding Avignon and wondered if anyone had additional recomendations regarding resturants or shops in Avignon? I will be in Avignon for a few days in March and would love to know about any "special" places I should visit. I have already madeplans to visit L'Isle Sur La Sorgue on Sunday for the Markets and will also be travelling to Chateaurenard for antiques. Any suggestions for the city? Thank you!

If you're interested in the decorative arts (and I think you are), pay a visit to the Louis Vouland Museum, which concentrates especially on 18thC French furniture. There's also a good collection of porcelain and faience.

My favorite restaurant in Avignon?and I hope it's still there?is called L'Epicerie. They use very fresh local products and even have live music. Very casual, not pretentious atmosphere; the waitresses wear slippers (flip flops)! If you don't have reservations, go early.

There is/was a cute little restaurant that served just cheese. It had a cow on the sign (also cute). It is on a side street near the Palais.

The main square in Avignon, near the Papal Palace, is ringed with restaurants, and there are any number on the adjacent side streets. There's also a wonderful place to get ice cream down at the end of the square that leads into the town proper.

Le Vernet has great food in a nice garden setting with good service. The windy day we were there, a group of Japanese ladies were laughing as chestnuts fell from the trees above onto their table. Their chivalrous waiter reappeared offering his motorcycle helmet for protection!
