Amalfi or Sardinia ?

We (a couple ) have 3-4 days to visit Amalfi or Sardinia from Florence . Which area is suggested ? Haven't been to either . Prefer cliffs to beaches ...

How would you be getting around Sardinia? Would you rent a car? What time of year? Where do you go after this part of your trip?

Generally, I think a few days on the Amalfi Coast would be logistically easier. IMO, seeing Sardinia well requires more than a couple of days.

The Amalfi coast is a much smaller area than the island of Sardinia. Sardinia is over 200 miles north to south and around 100 miles east to west at the widest point (more by road). If you want to see all of the Amalfi coast in the time you have available, then that's perfectly possible, whilst it's not possible to see all of Sardinia in that time.

Spectacular cliffs, stay in Positano.

IF you like cliffs then definitely 100% Amalfi Coast. There are some great trails and wineries there too, right on the coast.
