I was in the town of Rorschach, directly on Lake Konstant,in Switzerland, this spring, visiting a relative. After I returned home, I found out that right across Lake Konstant, on the German side, is the birthplace of the historic Zeppelins that Germany produced during the 30's. It was the birthplace of the famous Hindenburg, as well as other German dirigibles. There is a large, as I was informed, museum dedicated to the dirigibles. I also found out this was the birthplace of the Luftwaffe, so I suppose there is something comemorating that also. I was fit to be tied that I was less than 10 miles away and I missed it. If you happen to be in that area, I feel you should check it out, and unlike me, don't miss it. I have to go back soon and visit the museum.
The name of the city is Konstant, Germany.

I just remembered: there is a British and an American Air Museum at Duxford, near Cambridge, England. I've visited the British several times but not the American on the same airfield because it is very new. The British like to fly their exhibits including WW 1. I can reccommend Duxford very highly. Go to Grafton Underwood, a small village where my B-17 field was in WW11. There is only a monument now but the village church has a large stained glass window with a B-17 in the artwork. It is near Kettering in the Midlands.

You can visit the Morgan car factory near Malvern in England. It's free - all you have to do is show up and speak to the receptionist. She'll give you a map of the factory and some brochures and off you go! You get to see these beautiful cars being made from scratch and you can talk to the workers, take photos and dream! Not a car fan myself, but thoroughly enjoyed myself!
If you are going to be in Germany, there is a fantastic VW Museum in Wolfsburg (east of Hannover). My husband and I visited it last summer because we collect and show VW's. The museum collection is excellent.

Visit the Deutsches Museum in Munich. My husband went ga-ga over the airplane collection. There is also a transport museum in Luzern, Switzerland.
