A hole in the wall in St Germain. Paris
Au pied de fouet.
At the foot of the whip. If you understand you tell me.
Plats du terroir. Staff aux petits oignons (Nice).
Too much too eat and nearly for free. A steak tartare for 12 euros.
Wine du pichet for ?? Good enough.
Boss very nice.
Not haute cuisine but French traditional.
From the good tips of uncle woinparis.

Thanks for the review. There are several of those in Paris in arrondisements 4-7.
I believe the name is because his establishment on rue St Benoit is located in an old diligence or coach inn on the route between Paris and St Cloud so the whip reference is for the horses on the coach, the driver always had a whip. Maybe they even used a whip as the sign for that type of establishment, like they do for other type establishments, I don't know.

Definitely will be dining here when I'm in Paris for a few days this May and staying at Hotel du Danube. Thanks for your ongoing helpful and humorous monitorings of my favorite city. I look forward to seeing where you will pop up next in your meandering.
