3 days with car in London 6 propertiess to visitvisit
Hello we have 3 days in London with a car looking at Knebworth House, Hatfield House, Broughton Castle, Ashridge House, Chenies Manor House, Dorney Court and Fulham Palace. We have visited pretty much all the big ones over the years Hever, Hampton Court, Penhurst, gone into Plymouth, Salsbury, Winchester, Oxford. Need to narrow this down or take on suggestions. We will be back in London for another 4 days but no car and plan to to do local. Appreciate any advise again.
Cheers Debra

Where are you staying in London? Will you have parking? Is it inside the Congestion zone?
None of those places except Fulham Palace are convenient to staying IN London and commuting out every day. Knebworth, Hatfield, Broughton Castle, Ashridge House and Chenies Manor are all north and west of London - driving out of the city and back every day would eat up HOURS unnecessarily. You would be better off staying in/near Aylesbury/High Wycombe/St Albans. Or heck, even near Windsor.
Then you could visit Fulham Palace when you are in London for the last 4 days.

Hillingdon to Broughton Castle -- about 90 minutes
To Knebworth house about the same. To Hatfield house - maybe 75 minutes if you are lucky. Hatfiled > Knebworth about 35-40 minutes . . So a day of Hillingdon > Knebworth > Hatfield > Hillingdon would have you driving 3.5 hours plus the two visits -- a very long day.
Hillingdon > Ashridge House > Chenies Manor > Hillingdon . . . about 2.5 hours plus the two visits.
Hillingdon > Dorney Court - maybe 45 minutes.
So you don't have enough time in 3 days . . .
>>Wanted Windsor but too expensive so not central London.<<
Did you try the Travelodge? It is in very central Windsor (wouldn't help your travel ties but is in a good location)

You don't say when you are visiting but some of the houses have very restricted opening times. Dorney is only open on bank holidays and the month of August.
Chenies only on Wednesday and Thursday plus bank holidays I believe.
It's probably a good idea to check what is open during your stay and then come up with a plan.

I loved Hatfield House, which is easily accessible by trains that go practically right to its entrance - wonderful gardens and neat old house and there is an old part of Hatfield adjacent to the house that is neat.
Arundel Castle would be another one an easy drive or train ride from London - I thought it very impressive.

Not from Hillingdon . . .

Arundel is a 2 hour drive from Hillingdon
The OP isn't staying in London, they are staying out near Heathrow/Slough.
