Whats the most important acitivity?
We are going on our first cruise on RCCL Voyager for our 25th anniversary in August. What are the MOST important things we should do onboard and also do while in port.
What shouldn't we miss and what is a waste?
Also, we had to get 2nd meal seating; will we be glad or sad??

Such huge questions! But fun to debate. IMO always look forward to dinner with table of at least 8 because I enjoy most meeting people. Thus I also look for opportuities to talk with staff and fellow travellers. i never mind missing BINGO. I try to see at least one sunrise and one sunset. Will walk outside rather than go through cigar lounge.
In ports, I try to find a tour that has more walking time, more viewing time and little shopping time.
BUT I doubt anyone would agree completely with my list. My daughter enjoys the jogging track and gym and will chose snorkle over an art walk. I've been on land tours with people whose only question at every stop was "Where can we shop?"
You'll soon be able to make your own list. RCCL has been my choice 3 times. Each time was very satisfying which is why I start looking for my next cruise as soon as I get home.
What a great way to treat each other as you celebrate 25 years.

Lila, what we have learned from cruising it that everyone is on a different cruise. Some people are up at 6AM to exercise, and some don't know where the gym is. Some book lots of spa treatments, and some don't know where the spa is. Some close the disco every night and some don't know where the disco is. Some don't get off the ship in port, and some research ports thoroughly and like to see everything they can. Some book lots of ship's sponsored shore excursions, and some do every port on their own. There is no right or wrong; it just depends on your individual interests and travel style.
everittp, you sound like my kind of traveller. I have a colleague who, when she is researching a trip, looks first at what there is to buy.
We also love meeting other passengers, and we like to learn a little about the places we're visiting. We do enjoy snorkeling once or twice during a week long cruise, and like to find a lounge where we can dance in the evening.

Lila, I'll bet you are having fun anticipating and planning. I enjoy the anticipation before a cruise.
Abram, I guess if the ship is your destination, then you look for which ship is available in your time slot. However, I look upon the ship as a mobile hotel on water. I have given my TAa list of "I wish I could see ..." they phone me when they see a deal on my wish list.
That's how i've ended up on Celebtity for galapagos in Oct.
