least expensive way to get to Marco Polo airport from cruise terminal
I'm trying to determine the least expensive way to get from the Venice cruise terminal to the Marco Polo Airport instead of purchasing the Cruise airport transportation. There are 6 adults traveling that have no problems with mobility.

I'd urge you to repost in the Europe forum. I've never flown into Venice or disembarked from a ship there, but the cruise port is east of the city. I'm virtually certain there's some form of public transport, either a vaporetto or bus.

Take the local bus (orange) 3euro, runs appx every 10 min. about 6 stops to Pizza Roma next to where boat is docked. You exit bus walk back up slight rise in street, over bridge and down into where Princess docks. Takes about 10-15 min depending on how much luggage your dragging. Faster and non stop is the blue bus (5euro) direct to Pizza Roma after that same thing up the hill over the bridge down towards boat.

The cruise line transport is easiest, and gets you where you need to be, when you need to be there. We were there overnight and had experience walking to the Piezzeta(?) Roma, and it is a substantial walk. Also your ship may be tied up quite a distance from the terminal. Also bags are a problem. When doing public transport you are doing personal bag toting. Our daughter stayed over in Venice on the way back and took the vaporetto to the airport and says that that was fine.
