do babies cruise free on any ships?

Hi All! Can my Grandbaby cruise for free with her parents? She is 16 months and were hoping to all go on a family cruise in Nov 07. Thanks for any info you can offer.

I believe that NCL only charges the port fees for infants, but I'm not sure what the age limit is.

NCL and Disney will give discounted rates for kids based on age, but on other lines they pay full passenger fare. Port & taxes apply.

The child would pay the 3/4 th passenger rate, regardless of age except where others have noted exceptions based on cruise lines.

NCL only charges the port fees for infants less than 2 years old. Older children must pay full fare.

I have to disagree regarding full fare for children. We started cruising when our baby was 2. We have done all the lines, RCL, Costa, NCL, Premier, Princess, Holland America, Dolphin, Celebrity. We have done almost all but Carnival. We never paid full fare for our child. He was a third passenger in the same cabin. Costa had the best $flat rate of $199 for kids. I suggest you the cruise lines directly. But full fare.. sorry no. 25+ cruises. Son is now 23.

Mediator, despite your many cruises --- I believe the other posters are correct in their statements. The baby pays full fare. If there are only two people in the cabin it's full fare for the adult and full fare for the baby - if there are 3 or more people in the cabin, it's still "full fare for a third or fourth passenger". In any case, there is not a 'discount' for being a child, with the exceptions noted.

Why are you 'sorry'?

I don't know why I'm sorry. Probably lost my train of thought. Ok, I see what you are saying if the baby is only a second, then yes it full fare. Better add someone to the cabin for sure. I know that if our little one had to do full fare, my husband would have had a stroke!!!

the best child friendly cruise line on the oceans is Disney cruise line. no other compares for kids rates, fares, care and amennities! check it out! twice we have gotten a kids 4 free deal. once we got a fare of $99. per kid. you cant beat it. we were able to do adult activities and excursions and leave our kids in the excellent onboard kids club. they begged us to leave them on the ship! we ALL had a blast! the only way to cruise w/ kids!!!!
