What is the "fine print" inncredible cruise deals I am seeing?

Keep getting emails from VactionsToGo and individual cruise lines with incredible offers on cruises less than 90 days away - like $300-400 for 7 day balcony.

At these prices am considering Carribean cruise with my elderly mother sometime early winter - I don't care where or when, just want to go someplace warm and read a book, have someone else cook and clean for me.

I know travel industry is offering all sorts of deals to get seats, rooms, cabins filled - but I have always operated under the assumption that "if it seems to good to be true...". I know tips, drinks, etc are extra. But with FF miles for air and hotel points for night prior hotel, this would be so cheap. What am I missing here?

Make sure these prices INCLUDE the port tax! There are also federal taxes you must pay in addition to the cruise fare but these usually aren't that high. If you use a TA then they should give you the total cost including everything. The cruise line itself should also give you a final price. And, shop around for a cruise TA who can answer questions about ships, etc. We have been VERY pleased with Ann Stilson, 888-800-1177 or email [email protected]. Her pricrs have always been the lowst. You will have to tell her Bonnie from NC said to call her as she only does referrals and past passengers plus groups. She is so good, she doesn't have to sit in a n office waiting for calls so she doesn't!

Call Vacationstogo toll free no. and ask about the cruises you think might suit. Then have the travel agent to figure up adding all the cost taxes, port, charges, etc. Then decide what you think is affordable and the best cruise for the person's interest.
I have used Vacationstogo several times and found the agent I spoke with most helpful.
I have a cruise planned with them last week of Jan.-Mexician Riviera on Holland America. I am in my 70ies and my 2 adult children in their 40ies are going with me.
I went on the New England Princess cruise in Sept. and found it great.
Used Vacationstogo. Will be glad to give the no. for the cruise specialist with them that I have used. Very helpful in helping me find the right cabin and explaining the cruise.
It also depends on where you live as far as airfare getting to the port

Thanks. We are thinking of FLL or Miami departure since my brother lives in south Florida and we could see him for a day on one end of cruise or the other. Hoping to use FF miles for air.

Also I do not know if this was mentioned, but what these sites do is they give you the price on an amazing deal, but it is for the slow season. Like a Caribbean Cruise in October. So be sure the call and ask if the price listed is for the cruise, itinerary and ship you want.
