Cruises Only - Be careful

We were in Holland Americas site and got sucked into Cruises Only site. Where we booked cruise over priced and excursions no savings and limited choices.

You have to be careful. You must go to the actual cruise company website. HAL doesn't sucker you to another website. When I google say UAL tickets you see their actual website but also a lot of others too who are ticket brokers like expedia, travelocity, sky scanner, etc.

Once you are on any cruise lines official website you book directly with them. They don't pass you off to a broker.

Now that I remember sometime ago somebody else just posted something similar and this time it was about Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. He posted the link and as it turned out it was a broker site which actually looked a lot like the Royal Caribbean side with their Logo and he was blaming Royal Caribbean for something which of course was not the case just like it is here.

This happens all the time - you google a cruise lines (or some other travel related product) and you get lots of links to various websites. You have to look at the link's URL to see if it is in fact the "official" website. There are many travel agencies out there that have pages which look like "the real thing" so it's buyer beware.

Now, just because a link might bring you to a website that IS NOT the cruise line's official site isn't always bad. Many years ago we were interested in finding more info on a Regent Seven Seas cruise and (unknowingly) got directed to a website for a Travel Agent that specialized in cruises. Turned out he was a first rate & very knowledgeable travel agent, not only for cruises but also high end land based tours as well. We struck up an excellent relationship with him and over the years he has helped us put together about 15 different and very special trips including a 6 week driving tour of New Zealand, shorter driving tours of Italy and France, an extended cruise through the South Pacific and a combination land/sea trip with our entire family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
