Costa Magica-Honeymoon?

Any comments on taking the newest ship, Magica on the Costa line for a honeymoon in September? can you really beat it for the money? If so, any recommendations?

We are booked on the Magica cruise on Sept 11 as part of our honeymoon. I've never cruised and she's never been to Rome, so we both get to see something new.

I think the itinerary is awesome, if a little busy. I might skip one or two of the ports and just lay at the pool. I think it will be a great trip.

My husband and I took this cruise as our honeymoon as well. I have only been on one cruise before here in the states and was not impressed. However, Magica really changed my mind about cruise ships. The food was ok, but I didn't expect too much (but still better than Carnival...)The people are very kind and helpful!

During the day, no one was on the ship! And if you got off, you had plenty of time to wander around. It really was a lot of fun.

The only port I would say absolutely stay on the boat is Tunisia. What a terrible, scary place. One of the bartenders mentioned it would be a good day to stay onboard, but we went anyway....we were back on ship with in 20 minutes...Perhaps with a large group it would have been ok, but definatly not the most "romantic" place.

I am so jealous of you two! I hope you have an amazing time! And Congrats and Best Wishes on your marriage!

We were on the Magica in Feb. We hadn't planned on Costa because we were told a lot of Europeans who SMOKE cruise on Costa. Then we saw 7 days, $299! So we couldn't pass the price up. When our TA was booking,it turned out we got a balcony cabin, Lido deck -9! (Our TA 'reserved' 3 other balcony cabins for same price for her other customers!) When we got on the Magica we were very pleasantly surprised! Everything about her was great! Couldn't even smell smoke in the Casino! The food was pretty good, menu in a number of languages, loved the BIG chunks of Parmesan cheese you could get every day at the Italian buffet. There were things going on all the time from daily AM arobics by the pool to standard cruise ship games. There was a big choice of activities if you wanted them. We are not going to hesitate to go on the Magica or Costa again!
