There are many passenger reviews on: www.cruisecritic.com. There is a professional review there as well. It is a small ship as ship size goes these days but for Alaska as you cruise close to the shore this should be no problem inre to motion. Cheers, Larry

Done the Amsterdam to Alaska three years ago...got the Norwalk virus second day, so they closed the'kids' club, which devastated our grandkids. The ship is nice, but no better than others. This year, with other grandkids, we took the Sun Princess...they omitted the cruising of the glacier due to inclement weather, so seems like the all take away, but don't give. Also, the disembarkation procedures, or lack thereof, were terrible on both these ships...near pandemonium!!!

Samting - In all fairness, Norwalk virus and changes in itinerary can happen on any ship. We disembarked on the Golden Princess. This is a huge ship with 3000 passengers and did not have any problems.I was amazed it was went so well. Sorry, you had such a terrible time.

True. The weather can't be controlled and the cruise line doesn't have to compensate for weather related route/course changes. In retrospect I suppose we were lucky last yr. in Alaska that none of our excursions or routes had to be altered due to weather issues. In fact we were able to take the WPRR in Skagway as planned. However their second trip that day had to be cancelled due to fog.
