I know very little about them specifically but Goblin Hill has been widely recommended in my searches through places to stay in J.A. When you are there - you must go to the "Blue Lagoon" and have a bite to eat at the cafe... For more advice about hotels go to www.wheretostay.com or www.tripadvisor.com

Check the lengthy trip reports from LIZ that include Porty (she stayed at Fern Hill) in archives here or on jamaicans.com/westside wanderings bulletin board section. Frenchman's Cove, Dragon Bay and Trident are now mere shadows of their past. See the ownerssyndicate.com for the villas on the Blue Hole -- pricey, but totally justifiable since it's your honeymoon.
If you're not dissuaded by roughing it/or on more limited funds, check out places on or near the beach at Long Bay, not far from Porty. There's nothing stush in Long Bay except the amazing beach, lush countryside and non-tourist-oriented locals. There's a villa there/SEASCAPES smack dab on beach which we're thinking of staying at this fall--looks basic, but the beach is real compelling. US$6,000 or so is the range for Blue Hole/Blue Lagoon villas -- far less for Fern Hill.
