What to do on cruise ship stop in Bridgetown, Barbados
I am just reading about all the things to do in Barbados - our time there will be limited. We are both in our 60's. Can anyone suggest must see places? Thanks

Barbados is one place that has taxi's all over waiting to take you anywhere you like. Get your own group together and go sightseeing. The cost will be cheap. You can do half day tour and then spend the rest of your time on the beach. You can go to the cruise ship site and see what they offer. There is a nice beach not far away from the ship. They have a nice bar on the beach as well. It all depends on your interests.

Taxi better than group tour. Bridgetown just a bustling city. Countryside beautiful and varied, from flat areas with sugar cane fields, hilly areas, calm and rough water shores. There are restored plantations (Sunbury & St. Nicholas Abbey), gorgeous gardens (Flower Forest & Andromeda), old churches (St.John, St.James), Mt. Gay rum factory, wildlife preserve.

We've been to Barbados 7 times, although they have all been to stay on the island. We would recommend the Sunbury Plantation House. It's a step back in time at a real life plnatation house. Beautiful mahogany trees and they offer a tea service in the garden.
If you are a nature fan, there is also Welchman's Hall Gully. It is a limestone cavern that has collapsed. It's very peaceful and has beautiful views.
