small children to Jamaica

Anyone with experience? Living in Norway and having my vacation in Jamaica for the first time. Leaving in end of June. I`m taking my 1 year old son with me. Any advice (what so ever)on how to make it a great holiday for him (being so small) and us?

Sunblock...sun hat...perhaps a mosquito net for his stroller/portacrib/whatever.

Diapers can be bought there but may be more $$ and not your brand so if that is important bring it. Milk is not there what it is here, not sure how it compares to Norway but most of the milk in JA is the boxed "long life" milk. So if he is not nursing or doing formula, consider bringing powdered or something.

My 1 year old loved playing in the sand and water more than anything. Again you can buy buckets, shovels etc there but they will likely cost more.

Thanks for a quick answer. Did your child wear a bodysuit or nothing at all (except sunblock)? I`m fairly new at this..

She wore a swimsuit and t-shirt and sun hat when on the beach or in the water.

A bodysuit sounds hot

Diapers, baby wipes, swim diapers, baby food, etc., can all be bought at the Hi-Lo in Negril. I found the store to be the most well-stocked in many years during our stay the past couple of weeks. Also, milk can be bought in plastic jugs and is quite good. We served many breakfasts to our children with milk and cereal included. No complaints from the pickneys! Our children are 11, 3 and twin 10 month olds. The Jamaicans are fantastic with the children....a highlight of many trips to Negril!

you found "normal" jug milk in Negril? I am impressed, never seen it there before.
