Restaurant Suggestions for St. John

My husband and I will be in St. John next week and are looking for some recommendations on where to eat. If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them. Thanks!

Some of the ones that I enjoy are Cafe Wahoo (in Wharfside), Stone Terrace, Chateau Bordeaux (go before sunset for great views), Dining with Andre @ Chilly Billy's but may still be closed next week. Others love the fusion fare at Asolare and the views are great! Morgan's Mango. I avoid Paradiso despite it being owned by the same as Asolare and Chateau. Others enjoy Lime Inn especially on all-you-can-eat shrimp nite (think it is Wednesdays). Chloe & Bernard's at the Westin is getting some applause (chef was formerly at Asolare).

Great suggestions but I recommend Paradiso the food is excellent and has changed in the past few years. I enjoy the outside terrace. Another choice would be ZoZos! And yes Chloe & Bernauds is very good! Love Cruz Bay!

My favorite is Asolare - wonderful food, wonderful service, and a wonderful view. We also ate at Skinny Legs which is good for lunch if you are in the mood for a burger or sandwich. We heard great things about Chateau Bordeaux, but we never made it there to eat.

For a more upscale place with excellent food I'd recommend La Tapa, Stone Terrace, Paradiso (we thought it was excellent) or Chateau Bordeax. Asolare is also supposed to be very good but we didn't try it since we're not big fans of Pacific Rim food. Go to Chateau Bordeaux or Asolare for the best view.

For a more moderately-priced place, we really enjoyed The Lime Inn. Didn't think Morgan's Mango was quite as good.

For lunch try the BBQ stand by the ferry dock (no sign out front, but it's called Uncle Joe's). We also liked Pepe's in Coral Bay. Skinny Legs and Shipwreck Landing (also in Coral Bay) are both supposed to have good burgers, but didn't make it to either on our trip. Be forewarned--Skinny Legs is a dive!

To be fair, Skinny Legs does have an appetizer called "Rat-On-A-Stick" that is to die for!

We like the Lime Inn, Morgans Mango(where Harrison Ford was told they were too busy to seat him without a reservation) and Shipwreck Landing(on the other side of the island in Coral Bay---great for lunch). Most places are very casual.
